If you bought a plan from us before April 2020, we’ve enhanced your benefits
If you’ve held a plan with us for a while, we’re pleased to let you know we’ve added some additional benefits to your older Hospital and Convalescence Plans at no extra cost. Your benefits or exclusions of cover may still vary so it’s a good idea to get in touch with us if you’ve got any specific questions about your plans. From the 1st of January 2022, with your older Hospital Plans you can now claim for:
More types of outpatient appointments
These include specialist-led diagnostic and treatment centres, and mobile scanning centres.
Two outpatient appointments per year as standard
In the past, you may have only been able to claim for inpatient hospital stays or had some cover for outpatient appointments depending on when you took your plan out. We’re going to standardise this from the 1st of January 2022, so you’ll have two outpatient appointments to use each year.
Inpatient cover for mental health care
Your plan will include cover for admission to any NHS treatment centre or hospitals for mental health care.
Cover if you are admitted to a rehabilitation centre immediately following treatment as a hospital inpatient.
Day patient surgery cover
For when an operation or surgical procedure doesn’t involve an overnight stay in hospital. If you also hold an older Convalescence Plan, following a successful claim on your Hospital Plan for day patient surgery, you’ll also be able to make an additional claim if you need time off to recover.
From plan year to calendar year
To help you keep track of what entitlement you’ve got left for the year more easily, your plan will now run in-line with the calendar year. Just remember your outpatient entitlements will end on the 31st of December and reset on the 1st of January yearly.
